acronym for “laughing quietly to myself”… along the same lines of lol (laugh out loud), but quieter.
most useful in the workplace when you can’t laugh out loud and have to m-ffle the chuckle under your breath.

can also be used in a public setting if reading a text or im on a mobile device and want to avoid being seen as a loud laugher, especially when by oneself.
