the anime equivalent of jumping the shark. in essence, any plot point that comes out of left field and makes no sense within the context of the show.
a reference to the penultimate episode of occult academy, where one of the characters is suddenly revealed to be a magical flying panther, to great unintentional comic effect.
i’m going to watch that new shaft anime. i hope it doesn’t go all magical flying panther on me.
