1) a female mail courier or postal worker. 2) a word to describe a female postal worker, created from the combination of the words mail and mam. 3) the opposite of a mailman. the same combination can be applied to other professions ending in “-man” to convey that the professional is a women. such as in the words “firemam” and “policemam”
word orgin: i pointed to a women postal worker walking up my drive-way when i was 4 years old, and told my mom the “mailmam” was here. yeah i know it is a little cheesy but hey it is kind of cute
