Makin’ That Shelter

an up-and-coming catch phrase used to describe people who are receiving some form of a money income. the phrase derives from the concept of “makin’ that bread” in that money made was often spent putting food on the table. yet it is often ignored that above the table is a roof, which is the centerpiece in creating a shelter. so when one says to the other “you gonna make that shelter?” it basically means that he is going to make money and spend it by putting a roof on the house.
mike: when do you start working?
alyssa: monday.
mike: gonna be makin’ that shelter?
alyssa: you know it!
