to stretch out a story for an extremely long period of time. can also be used as “marking it up”, where the marker is marking the situation up.
i just listened to this guy tell the cl-ssic “chicken crossing the road” joke. it took that guy like 15 minutes to tell the story, he totally knows how to mark it up!
