milspeak (noun)
the specific jargon, whether official or otherwise, of the military culture, usually the us military. often a contraction or acronym. milspeak phrases often find their way into common civilian use, often with little or no understanding of their origin. this lack of understanding sometimes results in a new common meaning for the phrase.
“i was three days short when the d-nks wiped the hq, sop right? man that whole furball was fubar. my unit got held over past my date, but i caught my ticket early in the landing gear and got evac’ed and shipped anyway, only minus some original equipment. snafu.”
