monawkward
a portmanteau of “moniker” and “awkward”; describes the situation after the realization that the new guy to a group uses an individual’s specific name really often while referring to everyone else as simply “guys”, “hey, you”, etc. because he doesn’t know anyone else’s name and is attempting to overcompensate.
“as chad referred to me by name for the 5000th time, i noticed that he had never directly addressed anyone else since the first day of school. it was monawkward, to say the least, after that.”
