moon doggy
this is the ring that sometimes appears around the full moon. it is not an object of any sort, but a visual effect. the appearent radius of the moon doggy is about ten times the diameter of the moon itself. it looks to our eyes like a perfect halo of light surrounding the moon.
minion: excuse me wise one, what is that circle of light surrounding the moon?
morgan: when there is just the right haze in the sky and the moon is full or nearly so, it is then that the moon doggy may appear.
to be so high that it feels like you’re on the moon.
