moral values
a term people use when they don’t want to admit that they’re h-m-phobic.
“moral values are very important to me. (heh, they’ll never find out that i hate gay people!)”
phrase often used to belittle others while smugly -sserting superior morality, gained popularity during clinton impeachment trial by republicans.
most often used by outraged republicans against democrats as in implying “i would never do that!” or “how could you!”
it’s standard meaning is “hypocrisy”
senator ensign (r) governor sanford (r) both lectured president clinton on “moral values” they felt having a girlfriend was sending a terrible message to the world. called on him to resign for his shameful behavior.
they were so shocked they needed to know all the details!! what they did with all that scandalous information…well you know.
n. one’s personal definition of and resolve to practice the proper behavior to exhibit, both in public and private. this may be determined by one’s religion, philosophy, carnal desires, or lack thereof.
propaganda is usually an attempt to to spread one’s moral values to others.
censorship is usually an attempt to impose one’s moral values upon propaganda.
