derogatory nickname for the ford mondeo (known as the ford taurus in the americas), a portmanteau of ‘mundane’ and ‘mondeo’. refers to the car’s reputation for being a bit ordinary, or mundane.
‘he’s got no imagination when it comes to cars. he could have bought something interesting like a holden v8, but he had to follow the herd and buy a mundaneo.’
