number punk

a generalized genre of music referring to “newer” mainstream punk. from the tendancy of breakout punk bands in the last several years to include numbers in their name (i.e. blink-182, sum 41, etc). however, a band does not have to include a number in it’s name to be considered “number punk”; the genre in general references popular punk, in most cases signed to a major record label. read: good music.
