ped-ahl’-stree-an. a bicyclist who prefers bike paths and purposely avoids riding on the street among motorized traffic – sort of in between a street bicyclist and a pedestrian. pedalstrians generally seek the bucolic aesthetics of bike paths, the safer biking they afford, or both.
i became a dedicated pedalstrian after having been clipped by an inebriated motorist a couple years ago.
