plur

n. the lifestyle concept of peace, love, unity, and respect. originated in a speech by nyc dj frankie bones early in the history of raves, it’s undefined dogma of comraderie for all humanity has been adopted by many ravers as an attempted lifestyle.
we as a community need to observe plur in our everyday lives; the reason we love the people around us is because we all love the music, and so we should try to reach beyond that and embrace our fellow man.
simply put is peace, love, unity, and respect. but as is true with everything in the world, nothing can be simply put. plur. is a lifestyle, a state of mind, and an outlook on life.

picture it: the music is pumping, the lights are shooting through the smoke filled room, ur body moves as if taken over by the beat, u look around, u smile and realize that at that second every person in the room with u is your best friend. there is no judgement, no worries, nothing but a solid beat, a good vibe, and the knowledge that everyone around you truly understands what it is to be at peace with everyone else. they are willing to love anyone for who they are without judgement. you can feel the unity that comes from knowing that you are truly above all worries. and you realize that everyone, including yourself, respects everyone and everything around them. then you realize the music is hoppin, the people are groovin, and u and everyone around u have entered a world most people can only dream of.

that’s plurand once it takes u over u will never be the same. it is the anthem of the raver, and the ideal by which we operate. it is a conscious choice to accept, love, and respect everyone around us, including those who would laugh at our principles and ideals. it is the strength which keeps us in our constantly happy mood, and it gives us the strength to persevere in a world which judges a book simply by its cover, not even taking the time to understand the beauty that lies on the inside.

it started up in the rave scene/culture. dj frankie bones was believed to have started plur after a fight started while his was deejayin. he said “if you don’t start showing some peace, love, and unity, i’ll break your f-cking faces.” then respect was added to it in a discussion in a rave newsgroup(alt.music.rave)
its also mainly used on rave sites and stuff like gs.c(glowsticking.com) cauz u wouldnt say plur in real life but u would say peace love unity and respect.

it is also sometihng that ppl/ravers live by. it has a good meaning that should be used everywhere i reckon

it’s not just those 4 words, but there’s so much more meaning behind it. i read another entry where someone talked about it being a bunch of bullsh-t and after a rave they won’t follow it. but raves have nothing to do with it, it’s just about living everyday life and having peace, love, unity, and respecting those around you. in everything you do.. 🙂

an acronym that stands for peace, love, unity, and respect. its something usually -ssociated with raves, and represents the good vibes one could expect from a rave setting. represents a lifestyle for ravers.
