Pokémon (species)
monsters that live alongside humans and animals in the fictional world within the pokémon franchise. humans can capture these “pocket monsters” in high-tech devices that convert their matter into energy and store it. they are based on j-panese yokai, monsters that live disguised among humans, which is why many pokémon look like inanimate objects. satoshi taijiri, first created the concept which was inspired by his childhood hobby of bug-catching.
