something that many people make but few people keep.

basically, its a new way of lying. mainly used by guys who want girls to get off their backs. also see lies

girl:promise?
boy:yup. i promise.
two weeks later –
boy:i’m sorry. it’s over.
something that you are committed to and you don’t break what you say your committed to.
i promise to be forever yours.

something people ask for when they are not confident in the other that they will come through with what they have said. though most of the time they do not come through anyways.
a promise is meant to be broken
a promise is something you’d use to see if you can trust a person, ppl who say things like promises are meant to be broken are ppl who have never met somewun that they actually trust.

blank hollow statements of comfort that serve no purpose other than to make someone feel better when you’re lying to them.
