what a modern day ’emo’ really is. emo music is actually defined by such bands as rites of spring, and was really just another subgenre of hardcore punk. today’s pseudo-neo-emo is just a digusting individual who looks at livejournal, c-ck-in-hand whilst crying about nelson mandela’s death. irony, it’s a virtue.
emo: i enjoy my subgenre of hardcore punk
pseudo-neo-emo: -cuts wrist- oh how my life sucks so much that i steal my ‘scene’ from an already poor subgenre of punk.
true punk: ‘oi, anarchy yeah!’
