the scandal surrounding mitt romney and the dog he crated and mounted to the top of his vehicle for a 5 hour trip to canada in 1983. it has been reported the dog, an irish setter named seamus, was so fearful that he defecated in the crate. obviously a play on the words “romney gate”.
the peta people launched a campaign against mitt romney after the wide publicity of romneycrate.
