adjective, describes admirable behavior. respectable in the sense of polite, considerate, intelligent, loving, caring. originates with the scout oath (a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent), but being scoutlike is not limited to scout events, nor do you have to ever be involved in organized scouting, to practice scoutlike conduct.
