the cost a company pays for systematically not hiring and/or promoting women. if the best person for the job truly is a woman, but the company refuses to hire or promote her then the company will pay in the long run.
if law firm x will not employee a female lawyer, but she then revolutionist the industry by catering to an untapped market then law firm x pays a s-xism tax. more examples can be found in the book why men earn more.
