Shell Shock

a slang term for “post-traumatic stress disorder”. a condition which often occurs for those who have been in active combat. can affect the body in various ways, but can be treated.
he was suffering from a serious case of sh-ll shock after ‘nam.

a condition usually found in soldiers, where a traumatic experience forces the person into a state of shock, such as being in the proximity of an exploding artillery sh-ll (hence sh-llshock). they are quite often rendered completely incapacitated without suffering any physical damage. this is also often confused with ptsd.
