showcar
a small engined, budget hatchback (for example a saxo 1.1 or clio) which is usually bought for under £1500 and then receives copious amounts of fibregl-ss and sound equipment, aswell as neons ,furry interiors, gullwing doors and so on, until £10000 upwards has been spent on said vehicle and it struggles to make it up a slight hill (as there is too much weight for the tiny engine to carry). at which point it can be displayed at a large “meeting” of like minded showcar owners and receive praise and a macdonalds voucher as a prize.

vwvortex’s mk3 forum defines a show car as one that has at least 3 of the following:
-smoothed rocker panels
-colormatched/fully polished bbs rs wheels
-pulled wheel arches
-a shaved/smoothed engine bay
-a c-cky, self-promoting, and ‘holier than thou’ owner. (this quality is pretty much required)
if the car is at a show, but driven off site before being loaded onto a trailer, it is considered a daily driven show car. also, if the owner insists that he doesn’t lower it farther than it’s normal height for shows, he does.
