i know i’m a boy but i have friends that refer to themselves as “skater girls”.

first of all a real skater girl won’t refer herself as a “skater girl” because they don’t want other people to label her. if you do skate and your a girl you have am actual board and you know how to actually do something, not falling off the next 2 seconds. skater girls won’t try to make it a big deal that they skate. if you have an instagram and you label yourself as a skater girl, your just embarr-ssing yourself.

a fake skater girl will buy a penny board and pretend they skate. they will also like to label themselves as a skater girl.
real skater girl: hey!, do you wanna go and skate one time?

fake skater girl: sure when?

real skater girl: maybe tomorrow! in practicing my backside 180.

ok a skater girl is a girl who has skated, really skated, and can actually do tricks. i am sick of guys say that chicks cant skate. i am 15 and ive skated for about 7 years and when i wear almost and emerica. i get called a poser, that p-sses me off. some skater girls can actually skateboard, so not all chicks that wear “skater” cloths are posers, so those d-cks(guys) that say that need to come to florida and ill play them in a game of skate then u can judge. and those skater chicks that hang out with skater guys just cause they are hot, you girls can go jump of a 3 story building and land on your fake face. 🙂

a girl who skates and is totally underestimated by guys. usually hangs out with a group of guys, and she usually has no idea, but they are all in love with her. and when challengeng to a skate comp. she will kick the dude’s -ss who challeneged her. not to be mixed up with sk8r grrl. i sk8r grrl is someone who owns a skateboard, and carries it around with her, listning and dressing like avril lavigne. real skater girls are usually very tough.
sk8r grrl: (singing to avril lavigne sk8r boi) he was a sk8r boi, she said see ya l8r boi he wasn’t good..
skater girl: what the h-ll are you singing?
sk8r grrl: skater boi, i live and breath skate
skater girl: go over ther and do an ollie.
sk8r girl:ok, skate or die!!! (walks over and steps on the board, then falls on her -ss)

1. a term used to describe a girl that skateboards. they usually don’t like being labeled it, either. they can’t just be “skaters” like the guys, they have to be seperated by gender, and called “skater girls.” but the guys don’t have to be called “skater boys” because skateboarding is a male dominant sport.

2. a girl that worships avril lavigne, and wants to be “punk rock” and try to dress cool. a girl that really skates will not refer to herself as a “skater girl.”

a skater girl is one of the following two:

a female who skateboards for the genuine love and fascination of it

or

in an attempt to meet guys who skateboard.

some females don’t mind being called “skater girl” while others do. however, the reality of the term is that it separates females subtly from what they are. skaters. unlike males who skateboard, females are called “skater girls” rather than just skaters. the reason for this would be the male domination of the skateboarding. that still does not take away from the fact that skateboarding has and always will be something females can excel in just as much or more than males do. when looking back or taking a current look, we all need to remember women have existed within the skateboarding scene since it’s beginning. so when looking at the archetypes of the sport, don’t just consider jay adams, tony alva, or duane peters, think peggy oki, lauren thornhill, kim cesepedes, or stephanie person. they all had a place in the scene, and they all paved a way for the females to come. thank them, respect them, be aware of them, and most of all shred with them.
