Skyrim Envy
akin to “p-n-s envy” in freudian psycho-n-lysis, skyrim envy refers to the theorized reaction of a girl, during her relationship development, to the realization that she cannot compete for her boyfriend’s attention when it comes to skyrim. this realization is considered a defining moment in the development of relationship preferences for women.
in contemporary culture, the term sometimes refers inexactly or metaphorically to women who are presumed to wish they were skyrim.
girl 1: “my boyfriend just got skyrim… i haven’t seen him in almost 6 days… i still love him, i just don’t know what to do…”
girl 2: “leave him, i left my boyfriend when he got skyrim and spared myself the trouble of competing with it. you just can’t win.”
girl 1: “i just wish he would love me almost as much as he loves skyrim…”
girl 1 is suffering from a sub-stage of skyrim envy called skyrim denial (the stage in which the girl still thinks she can actually compete with skyrim before she comes to the realization that she cannot).
girl 2 realized that she could not compete with skyrim.
