u.s. army slang for gloves, scarf, things to keep you warm, e.g.
“shut up and quit complaining about forgetting your snivel gear.”
clothing and/or accessories generally -ssociated with cold weather wear. usually a derrogatory term given when wear of such clothing is unwarranted.
“it’s only 50 degrees out here, why the h-ll do you have your snivel gear on?”
