soorj
very strong armenian coffee, and an aquired taste. soorj is served in a long-handled coffee pot (soorjaman), and poured into tiny cups with saucers. because of it’s strength, it is slowly consumed over a period of time. there is usually some ‘sludge’ left over after finishing a cup.
we were about to leave, but our parents decided to drink some soorj, so we stayed for another hour.
