1.south deerfield is a census-designated place (cdp) in deerfield, m-ssachusetts. it lacks a separate munic-p-l government, but physically resembles its own incorporated village. most people havent heard of south deerfield until you mention it is home to the well-known yankee candle company.
2.south deerfield is sometimes regarded as the poor cousin to old deerfield, home of deerfield academy.
