“ah..sh-t, sorry man.”
a neighborhood in boston which lies south of back bay, east of roxbury, west of south boston, and north of dorchester. the neighborhood has had a long existence of crime. it contains four housing projects: villa victoria, methunion manor, cathedral housing, and tent city. the area originally a black, jewish, and irish mix, has a largely growing hispanic population. the south end is not to be confused with back bay, which is a much wealthier, ritzier area of boston.
“there was another shooting last night in south end.”
a part of boston next to roxbury. south end is partially nice and rich, but is an underestimated hood and is completely ghetto when you get to know it. home to these housing projects: villa victoria, cathedral housing, tent city, methunion manor, lenox/camden, camfield gardens, and the ones at 1825 washington st. south end is about 45% white, 25% black, 20% hispanic, 10% asian, and 10% other (according to boston data profile). also home to the best little league in the city.
mike went out to eat in the south end, and stayed safe, while his friend david got shot in the head 5 times.
the south end is a neighborhood in boston, m-ssachusetts. the south end lies south of the back bay, and northwest of south boston, northeast of roxbury, north of dorchester, and southwest of bay village. despite the name, it is not directly south of the center of downtown boston.

the south end’s population has been diverse since the 1880s when jewish, african-american, greek, syrian, and lebanese populations began to settle in the neighborhood. today the neighborhood remains diverse, integrating people of nearly every race, religion, and s-xual orientation. income levels are anecdotaly reported as stratified: a concentration of the wealthy and the poor. however neither the u.s. census or city of boston reports on income of this specific neighborhood.

while known for being a mostly upper middle cl-ss, gay/cultural neighborhood, street crime remains a serious problem. housing in the south end is very expensive by us and greater boston standards.
