a derogotory term for mafia-wannabes of italian decent. referring to the invasion of southern italy by the non-white muslim moors in the late 1400’s, it plays on the moors’ genetic influence on the conquested italian population. ironically, making these proud, anti-black italian-americans just a few steps removed from being black themselves.
