term given to the environmental phenomenon occurring at oak street beach in chicago, illinois where at sunset the non-black beach patrons leave and are quickly replaced by black beach goers. the transition is subtle and, yet, profound. occurs almost within 10 minutes of sunset with surprising accuracy.
