sushi stop
a “sushi stop” is when a driver at a stop sign slows down but does not make a complete stop before continuing on. this practice, officially a “rolling stop”, is especially common in california, so it became referred to as a “california rolling stop”. a california roll is a type of sushi (favored by white people), so we call it a sushi stop!
“i saw so many cars making sushi stops this morning on my way to work.”
“dude, you totally just made a sushi stop. if you get pulled over i’m gonna be so annoyed.”
