switching my plates
beck uses this terminology in the lyrics of “h-ll yes”. i believe it means to change vinyl records on turntables when djing. “cleaning the floor” could also be a dj-centric piece of terminology. “my beat is correct” definitely relates to djing, hence my belief that “switching my plates” is another way of relating the kinetic act of playing vinyl records on two turntables.
