ted-hed — noun
a tedhead person who is an enthusiast of the multidisciplinary lecture series hosted by the nonprofit ted conferences, llc (“ted” being short for “technology, education, design”). taken to extremes, this enthusiasm can lead to someone becoming more than a simple fan or academic, exhibiting some of the negative qualities of a sn-b, cultist, or otaku.
i watched three lectures before breakfast – one on spider silk genetics, one on using video games to teach, and one on olpc. i’ve become a tedhead!
you can’t even talk to sharon anymore; she’s become such a d-mned tedhead. she cornered me in the break room and talked to me about micro-financing in the third world or some sh-t for fifteen minutes!
a fan of teddy geiger. most likely deprived from the name for fans of the band the greatful dead (deadheads). they are usually head over heels in love with him and take pride in being called this name.
