(n.) someone deformed by mother’s use of drug ‘thalidomide’during pregnancy. ‘thalidomide’, also known as ‘neurosedyn’ and ‘softenon’, was prescribed to pregnant women during the 1950’s and 60’s as a sleeping pill and to combat morning sickness. unfortunately, children of women who took the drug were born with all manner of hideous deformities, such as incredibly short arms.
