when a celebrity, usually a rapper, is shot in the -ss in an attempt to jumpstart a lagging career or attract otherwise elusive media attention.
the term is a reference to former naughty by nature frontman treach who in 2006 appeared on an episode of the sopranos as an unknown rapper who paid bobby “bacala” baccalieri to shoot him in the -ss in attempt to bring attention to himself.
