(tri-ethol-methol-death) a term used by firefighters, mostly of the older generation, to describe a hazardous container with an unknown substance in it or said hazardous material. the ‘tri’ means the 3 colors of the placard system. ethyl and methyl are groups of chemicals that are hazardous.
