2. a nickname for the collective group of three female american ethologists who observe and study non-human primates: jane goodall – chimpanzees, dian fossey – gorillas, and birute galdikas – orangutans.
3. also known as “leakey’s angels” since they were all sponsored and mentored by louis leakey.
