a measure of the amount of sp-ce that people use when in public places like sidewalks, exercise paths and public transportation(trains, buses, etc.)
joe: did you see that guy sitting across 2 seats on the train yesterday?

mike: yeah. he has a huge urban footprint for such a small guy.
