one of the best songs in the world. written by ray davies and recorded by his band the kinks (which is the most underrated band in the world, by the way). it was first released as a single on may 5 1967 and later appeared as the closing track on their alb-m “something else by the kinks”.
if you haven’t heard it you’ve missed one of the milestones in popular music.
