1) derogatory. a word used to describe someone in the entertainment world that has intentionally achieved renown and fame by selling either their body or soul, or both, to the industry. such methods result in a hollow sense of importance that doesn’t resonate with the public, due to the shameless deeds the celebrity performed to achieve said fame.
i heard about lindsay lohan when she was new. she had potential then. but she started doing really lousy movies just to get a paycheck. she’s not a celebrity anymore. she’s a wh-r-star.
