willig
adjective, for someone who is willfully ignorant.
the difference between stupidity and (normal) ignorance is that ignorance is banished by knowledge, but stupidity is forever. a willig person blurs the distinction; he actively resist any input that contradicts his worldview.
whenever someone says that “evolution is just a theory”, i immediately recognize he is willig, and change the subject — or sneak away.
