winterval
the sum of all festivities taking place around the middle of winter (northern hemisphere). this triumph of political correctness was invented in 1998 by birmingham city council. it is a contraction of winter and interval. it embraces the mix of neopagan, jewish, african american, christian and secular fesitivals that occur at this time.

a mixture of winter and festival. a made up holiday that occurs in december for people of all different beliefs to worship rampant consumerism.
winterval is great! by not being christian holiday it doesn’t exclude people of different beliefs, and by taking on the burden of commercialism away from christmas, it allows christians to celebrate the birth of jesus. everyone’s a winner!
