the zoso symbol first introduced by jimmy page on the unt-tled fourth led zeppelin alb-m, was lifted largely from austin osman spare’s “zos” drawing. a likely interpretation of spare’s zos idea had to do with two concepts, relating to the life force in us all, and also the animal or beast side of us all as well. in addition, aleister crowley also has a “so is o” concept, found in his book equinox of the g-ds. it is another expression for self-identification with the “beast”. also, if you say “so is o” fast enough it sounds almost identical to saying zoso. crowley and spare knew each other, so certainly there is a connection here, and page was clever enough to combine the two concepts (which are actually the same in essence) into his one zoso symbol!

zoso is jimmy page’s symbol it isn’t evil or anything, it’s representing his star sign, he’s a capricorn(his birthday is 9 jan), in the the tarot the devil card is one of the cards for capricorn (not saying that capricorn is evil or anything). zoso also symbolises saturn, as capricorn is ruled by saturn. so it is not worship for the devil, just his star sign. jimmy was interested in astrology and the tarot, which is why he chose zoso to be his symbol

a reversal of the greek word sozo, which means life, body, or as a verb meaning to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health, to preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save or rescue.

a reversal of this word would be comparable to n-z- germany’s reversal of a common tribal symbal meaning peace and healing to make the swastika.

which is to say it would mean the opposite; i.e. death, or as a verb, to make one suffer until perishing.
