anterior serratus muscle anterior ser·ra·tus muscle (sə-rā’təs)
n.
a muscle with origin from the center of the lateral aspect of the first eight to nine ribs, with insertion to the superior and inferior angles and the intervening medial margin of the scapula, with nerve supply from the long thoracic nerve from the brachial plexus, and whose action rotates the scapula and pulls it forward, and elevates the ribs.
