a response to a question when you don’t really want to be the one to make the decision. named after the books where you literally “choose your own adventure.”
person 1: should we go to the mall and buy $75 sweaters, or help the homeless?
person 2: i don’t know. choose your own adventure.
in message boards: these are normally topics that an author creates a main storyline, and have the other people periodically choose what action will follow next (usually at a critical point in the story). if done well, they can be one of the most enjoyable topics on a board.
