Circle of Blame

the group of individuals collectively responsible for the failure of a project despite the limited control, if any, the individuals have on its outcome. the group often includes individuals that were not -ssigned to work on the project, but were given official notice of the projects existence during a meeting, memo, or e-mail.

commonly, such doomed projects are leaderless or have an ill-suited leader from the start. ultimately, executive management hears of the failure and criticizes the entire group for their incompetence.
“man, i hate getting cc:ed on an email. now i am in the circle of blame!”
