Coming out of the iceberg

a figure of speech for someone’s disclosure of their secret obsession of avatar: the last airbender. the term originates from the infamous phrase “coming out of the closet,” which you most likely know refers to someone’s confession of their s-xuality. “closet” is so cleverly replaced with “iceberg” because aang, the main character of the series, emerges from a giant iceberg in the first episode of the first season.
example 1

guy 1: dude, just come out of the iceberg already. you practically jack off to kitara.

guy 2: it was one time!

example 2
i’m coming out of the iceberg! i love avatar!
