taken from the x-men animated series episode “captive hearts”. annalee, a projecting empath, uses her powers on wolverine who, as we know, is nearly invincible/heals almost instantly from almost all attacks. she begins chanting “covered with scorpions. all covered with scorpions!” and wolvie begins to hallucinate scorpions all over his body. he exlclaims in a frightened manner “no! covered with scorpions! get them off me!” thus, getting worked up over something that will honestly not effect him.
person a: “your musical tastes suck! i view you as inferior to myself because of them. if only you were more like me.”
person b: “no! covered with scorpions! get them off me!!”
person a: o_o
