measures on the slant
a phrase wich depending on context, can have a positive or negative meaning.
negative- to cheat someone; to shortchange someone; to be dishonest; to be uncool
positive- to be so correct as to not cut any corners; to be cool under pressure; to be direct with someone
negative- “you paid johnny how much? man, he measures on the slant. . . .”
positive- “did you see how johnny picked up that girl? dude measures on the slant!”
