Bombs
When you are invited into someone’s house, you get a sneak peek into that person’s life. You see how they decorate and what like to see and use everyday. However, it can also reveal some pretty bizarre secrets and habits. These are some of the strangest things seen in people’s houses. While sleeping over a friend’s house, his mother came in and told the boys to go outside. Apparently the bomb squad as coming to retrieve a grenade from WWII that was discovered in the garage.
Clowns
One house was covered in clowns. There were a total of 350 clowns throughout the house. Talk about getting scared in the middle of the night.
Feces
While looking to buy a house, one couple noticed here was a terrible smell coming from somewhere upstairs. When they opened the door, they saw piles of feces all over the room. Needless to say, they did not buy that house.
Nude Photos
One family had a painting of the mother posing topless above their fireplace. It was placed for everyone and anyone to see. The family didn’t seem to have an issue with it, though.
Taxidermy
While having dinner at a friend’s house in high school, one person discovered that their friend loved taxidermy. They had their past pets stuffed and displayed in their house.
Hamsters
One girl was absolutely obsessed with hamsters and always had at least six of them running around. When her friend spent the night and opened the freezer, she discovered almost two dozen dead hamsters just sitting there.
Hoarding
Hoarding can get extremely out of control. When one person was warned that their friend’s mom was a hoarder, they tried to be as polite as possible. It was hard though seeing all of the trash everywhere and knowing that six people lived in the house.
Starved
While spending the night at a friend’s house, one kid was asked to stay upstairs while the family had dinner. Later that night when he said that he was hungry, the father refused to give him food. He ended up sneaking into the fridge later that night.
Stock Images
When people buy picture frames, they remove the stock image and replace it with their own. This one family in particular hung up the frames, but kept the stock images in place.
Piranhas
Piranhas are pretty deadly fish. While over a friend’s house, one person witnessed a piranha jump out of its tank and flop around on the floor. She was terrified and had a lot of trouble sleeping that night.
Guacamole
For about a month one girl’s fridge and cabinets were full of mini guacamole containers. When asked about it, she had no idea why they were there. Eventually they disappeared, though.
DIY Flat Screen TV
When visiting a friend and her family, one woman noticed a large flat screen tv in the living room. Along the tour of the house, though, she discovered it was just a large TV that had been cut pushed through wall into the kids’ bedroom to make it look like a flat screen.
Butter
The first thing one person noticed about her friend’s house was the smell of butter. Only this stench was so strong she started to feel sick to her stomach.
Holes in the Roof
When sleeping over a friend’s house, everything seemed pretty normal until they went to bed. As they went to sleep, one girl looked up and noticed a large hole in the ceiling and roof. You could see right outside.
Hitler Portrait
While house hunting, one couple found a great house in the city. However, when they checked out the living room, they stumbled on a large portrait of Hitler hanging on the wall. Apparently it belonged to the previous owners.
Ants
One plumber was called to a house in a gated community to clear out a drain. When they went into the kitchen, there were dishes piled high in the sink and ants everywhere. There were so many ants on the counters that you couldn’t even see the granite they were crawling on.
Crime Scene Photos
While cleaning out a storage area, one woman discovered a cardboard box of photos. After going through them, the photos turned out to be black and white crime scene photos from all over the world.
Frozen Bird
While over at a friend’s house playing video games, one guy sat and talked to his friend’s family for a bit. They were telling stories of their beloved pet bird. Then they offered to show him the bird because they kept it in the freezer after it died.
Catholic Traditions
One Catholic family in particular had a strange dinner routine. They would play Josh Groban and then forced everyone to chug a glass of milk whenever “You Raise Me Up” came on.
Naked Moms
During a sleepover at a friend’s house, one little boy was struggling with his sleeping bag. So, the friend’s mom came into the room and helped him. Only, she was completely naked and nobody acted weird about it at all.
Rotting Fingers
One boy’s father was obsessed with the Vietnam War. When asked what was in a case from the war, he opened it and revealed multiple rotting fingers sitting in it.
Broken Wedding Picture
While hanging out in his friend’s basement, one guy noticed something strange in the corner. There was a chair, an ice pick, an empty wine bottle, and a broken frame with a wedding picture in it. Strangely enough the picture wasn’t of the parents.
Remains
Sitting on top of one person’s bookshelf was a box labeled as “Remains.” It was explained that the father was an archeological professor who liked to bring home souvenirs from digs.
Dolls
As you grow older, you realize just how creepy dolls can actually be. One person’s house was full of dolls in every single room. They would be sitting in chairs, on tables, and even life-sized ones standing in corners.
Skeletons
When one girl was talking about the skeletons in her closet, she wasn’t using the expression. There were literal human skeletons sitting in her closet because her grandfather had been a doctor.
Pig
When picking up something from a friend’s house, one girl noticed a pig that weighed about 250 pounds just sitting on the guy’s sofa. When asked what its name was, he answered Lindsay Loham.
Bathroom Carpets
People have been moving away from putting carpeting in their homes. However, one person loved carpet so much that they decided to put it in their bathroom.
Candid Photos
One girl decided to go over her friend’s house one day. They had only known each other for about a week, but when she walked into his room, she saw a framed picture of herself sitting on his desk.
Egyptian Urns
One family decided to name their cats after Egyptian gods and goddesses. When the cats died, they would cremate them and put them in urns depicting the Egyptian god or goddess. These urns were then put in the foyer for everyone to see when they walked into the house.
Exploding Gumball Machine
A family owned a large gumball machine, which is weird. But the strangest part is that in the middle of the night the machine exploded and sent gumballs rolling around everywhere.
Mice
While over a friend’s house for dinner, one person noticed that the kitchen was pretty messy. It was then revealed that the family was dealing with a serious mouse problem. There were four or five mice stuck to glue traps just sitting on the counter.
Bible Scripture
When one guy’s car broke down near a classmate’s house, she let him in while he waited for someone to come and fix the car. On every single wall were pieces of paper that said, “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I rebuke thee.”
My Little Pony
When invited over a friend’s house, one person discovered just how much his friend liked My Little Pony. There were pictures and figurines all over the bedroom. In the middle of the bedroom with all of the ponies was a crib for the baby his friend was expecting.
Pigeon
An unordinary pet to have is a pigeon. One girl owned a pigeon and when she invited her friend over, her friend was shocked to see that just about 30% of the bedroom was covered in bird poop.
Gnomes
One person turned their parents’ basement into a living area. However, when one person went upstairs to grab something, they saw that there were gnomes everywhere throughout the house.
Butter Dish
While over a friend’s house for dinner, one person was shocked at what they were serving. The family ate straight up butter as if it were mashed potatoes.
Dog Dish Washer
One family really loved their dog. They would let the dog lick their dinner plates when they were finished eating and then put them back in the cupboard as if they had just been washed.
Door Chains
While attending a friend’s party, one guy took a tour of the house. He noticed that there were chain locks outside of every door, except for the master bedroom. His friend said they belonged to the previous owner, but that was hard to believe.
Elephant Tusks
We all know that elephant poaching is a terrible sport. Well, one person’s father proudly displayed two elephant tusks over their fireplace for everyone to see. There was no shame there at all.
Dead Animals
One mother sent her son on a play date with someone from school. About an hour later, she received a call that her son wouldn’t stop crying and if she could pick him up. When she got to the house, she saw that every single room was full of taxidermy animals just staring at you.
Security Cameras
Security cameras aren’t uncommon to have around a house. However, it is pretty strange when you have four cameras all pointing to one door in particular.
