If you are an expatriate in Dubai and have a newborn child, you can sponsor their UAE residency visa within 120 days from the date of birth. The conditions and requirements for doing so remain the same as when sponsoring a male or female spouse visa Dubai. It may be a father (head of the family) who usually sponsors children for their Dubai residence visa but in some cases, this can be the mother too. Let us look at the detail:
Requirements and Documents for Child Visa Dubai
1. Birth Certificate
A Birth Certificate is an official document that shows where you or your child was born. It usually has important details like names, dates of birth, and parents’ information. It also has security features like a watermark, raised seal, or micro printing to help verify its authenticity.
If you are an ex-pat, you must submit the birth certificate of your baby to get a residence visa for him/her. This will allow you to avoid fines for overstaying. You will also need to submit both Arabic and English copies of the certificate and get them attested. You can do it at any Tasheel department across the UAE.
2. Passport
It is necessary to have your child’s passport with at least two blank pages when you submit your application for Child Visa UAE. Moreover, the passport must be valid for at least three months after your return from the Caribbean parts of the country.
Parents can sponsor their male children up to the age of 18 and their female children up to the age of 21 only if they are studying for a full-time university or college degree. They must have a minimum monthly salary of Dhs. 4,000 or Dhs. 3,000 with accommodation allowance.
Normally, the father is the one who sponsors his children to get their UAE residence visa but in certain cases like when the father loses his job, the mother can also do so. She must have an attested (by the UAE government) child custody verdict from a court.
3. Emirates ID
The Emirates ID is an important document that all UAE citizens and residents need to carry with them at all times. Generally, it is the father who sponsors his children into Dubai. But there are certain cases where a mother will have to do so. A mother can sponsor her son, daughter, or even both, as long as they remain below the age of 18 and are not married.
If the child gets married and their surname changes, they will have to visit an Emirates ID customer service center and submit the relevant proof in order to update their data on the population register and their Emirates ID card.
4. Medical Test
Many people come to Dubai for work, and many of them end up bringing their families with them. In order to sponsor a family member (whether it is a spouse or a child), one must meet certain minimum salary requirements and obtain a medical insurance policy. Expatriate residents are also required to pass a medical fitness test to sponsor their dependents. This is usually taken at an approved health center in the UAE and includes tests for HIV and TB.

5. Sponsorship Certificate

They need to fulfill some basic requirements such as showing a minimum salary of Dhs. 3500 per month with or without accommodation allowance and provide all the necessary documents as mentioned below.
These include two passport-sized and colored photos of the sponsor, their Emirates IDs (both original and copy), employment contract, health insurance, tenancy agreement, bank warranty deposit, and a sponsorship certificate attested by UAE Government officials. In addition, they need to provide valid proof of address and make a Dhs. 125 deposit with the Dubai Municipality. If they fail to do so, they risk facing severe fines. Therefore, it is always advisable to have all these documents in place before starting the process.
Process of Sponsoring Your Child in Dubai involves a specific process. Firstly, a parent who is a resident or citizen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) must sponsor the applicant. The parent must gather the necessary documents, including a valid passport, residency visa, and Emirates ID.
